Officials in San Diego are saying a police dog is expected to be OK after it was stabbed overnight.
According to KGTV in San Diego, police were looking for a man they believe wanted to comitt suicide by cop.
After finding the man they dispatched a police dog.
The K-9 bit the man several times, but in the process was stabbed multiple times with a two-pronged barbecue skewer.
Police were eventually able to subdue the suspect.
The dog was able to walk into a vet's office on its own power and is expected to survive.
