Bakersfield Police officials said they are investigating a case after possible human remains were found in a canal near Mill Creek Park in Central Bakersfield on Saturday.
BPD officials said at around 9:40 A.M., their officers responded to the 700 block of California Avenue for a report of partial human remains located in a nearby canal.
When BPD officers arrived, officers located and recovered the remains with the assistance of the Kern County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue detail.
According to BPD, Identification on the human remains and additional information will be released at a later time by the Kern County Coroner’s Office
Officials have not released any other details at this time.
