A prayer rally is set to be held Friday at the popular restaurant J's Place in remembrance of Ray Ingram, the owner and popular local chef, who was shot and killed Wednesday morning.

It is alleged that Ingram was killed by his girlfriend Michaele Bowers at a home in Southwest Bakersfield.

Bowers is scheduled to appear in court Friday for a murder charge hearing.

Today's prayer rally starts at 10 a.m followed by the restaurant opening at 11 a.m. , this after the soul food restaurant was closed for the past day and a half.
