Public Health closes Family Dollar Store in Central Bakersfield

Kern County Public Health closed Family Dollar Store Wednesday due to multiple health code violations.

Officials said they observed rodent droppings on top of shelving units near dog food.

There was also rodent droppings on the sales and storage floors. 

Public Health said there were also gnaw marks on prepackaged chips, cookies, and soup items that were on shelves.

The store, located at 333 South Union Avenue, will be closed until further notice.
