The man accused of shooting at a Bakersfield Police officer is set to be in court on Monday.
According to Bakersfield Police, 28-year-old Taj Carter was in a car that was involved in a pursuit with police. After it pulled over at the intersection of Mint and South J Street, Carter apparently got out of the car, ran and, during a foot pursuit, Carter fired a shot at an officer.
Carter then went to the ground and was taken into custody.
Two guns were recovered at the scene.
Another person, who was driving the car Carter was in, left the scene in a white Lexus.
Carter now faces multiple charges, including possession of an assault rifle, carrying a load firearm, obstruction and participating in a street gang.
He's set to be in court Monday.
