Ridgecrest police responded to a man with a pellet rifle near Pierce Elementary School around 11 a.m. Friday.

The subject was reportedly firing the weapon at a fridge located in the southeast lot of the school.

The school was put on lockdown as a precaution.

The subject was issued a citation and the fridge was discarded.
