UPDATE (5:33 PM): KCSO confirms five people were rescued from the river. Officials are currently searching for a 47-year-old woman in the river.
UPDATE (5:20 PM) : KCSO has rescued five people from the Kern River. Officials are still searching for one more person.
The Kern County Sheriff Department is on scene of a river rescue at Hart Park.
Officials say they are attempting to locate up to five people who are in the water.
