SBBCollege donates kindles to high school marching band

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - SBBCollege in Bakersfield will be donating 100 kindles to the marching band at Bakersfield High School today, Thursday October 12, 2017. They will be dropping off the donation at 3 p.m. at the high schools Science Field.

The Amazon kindles are being donated in an effort to increase not only the learning potential of local students, but also support technology in education.

In the past the students in the marching band at Bakersfield High School have used hundreds of printed pages for their drill instruction, however with the tablets they will be able to easily reference material and overall enable them to continue learning.

"Having all of their reference material with them during an entire rehearsal, instead of running to the sidelines to check their pages, would greatly improve the learning potential of our students," said Randy Bennett, the Instrumental Music Director at Bakersfield High School, "this is an amazing opportunity for the program to take the leap into the 21st century with the support of SBBCollege. The number of possibilities are endless" he said.
