Today, February 16, 2017, thousands across the country will take part in “In a Day Without Immigrants”, to show unity in the face of immigration policies proposed by President Trump.

Supporters will strike, miss work and not go shopping today. Some of the largest strikes will be in Washington D.C., Philadelphia and Austin.

Groups are also planning to rally in Shafter at St. Therese Catholic Church at 10 a.m.

A flyer for the event has been circulating reading in part – “Mr. President without us and without our contribution this country is paralyzed”.

St. Therese Catholic Church is located at 300 W. Lerdo Hwy., Shafter, CA and the rally is open to the public.
