The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting in south Bakersfield that happened around 9:40 Sunday morning.

Officials said they first received reports of a shots fired call in the 1700 block of Shamrock Way which is between S. H St. and F St.

When deputies got on scene they found a 24-year-old male victim in a bedroom with a single gunshot wound and transported him to Kern Medical with minor injuries.

KCSO said the suspects were one to three men who took off on foot or in a vehicle but they aren't sure at this point in the investigation.

It appears the shooting took place on the street and several homes in the area were hit.

It is still unknown if there are other victims or if the victim shot back at the shooter(s). However, lots of shots were fired and they are still continuing to collect evidence and look for more possible victims, suspects or witnesses.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact KCSO.
