The Bakersfield Police department said a short pursuit ended in a fiery crash early Sunday morning. 

Police said officers tried to pull over two people in a vehicle near Stockdale Highway and Highway 99, but the driver wouldn't stop.

A short pursuit followed and near Stockdale Highway and Real Rd. the driver crashed and the car burst into flames. 

Officers said one person got away initially, but was later found. 

Police said they found parts of a fake firearm. 

BPD said the driver has been arrested for evading arrest among other charges.
