Governor Brown's mandate was 9 months ago to cut water usage by at least 25% state-wide. As of April 1st, the state has fallen just shy of this goal, at 23.9%.
California State Water Resources Board's Felicia Marcus says this is "pretty darn good considering the fact that we had a incredibly ridiculously hot February".
Locally, our restrictions were slightly more stringent, with a 32% reduction goal. This has recently been lowered to 29% overall savings, compared to the same month in 2013.
