Study: Wildfires causing high levels of air pollution

Posted

The rise in wildfires will expose tens of millions of people in the western United States to high levels of air pollution in the coming decades, according to a new study by Yale and Harvard.

More than 80 million people will experience consecutive days with high air pollution caused by wildfires by the mid 2000’s, the study found.

The findings show the need for changes in wildfire management and evacuation programs, researchers said.
