Taft STEM Competition set to kick off this morning

TAFT, Calif. – This morning, Taft Union High School’s Oil Technology Academy students will participate in a technology challenge at the Kern County Raceway.

 

The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement and the University of Houston is putting on the event.

 

Students will compete on 15 teams in STEM-focused activities from circuit-building to powering an electric vehicle.

 

Teams will be scored on work, teamwork, creativity, and safety.

 

Teams with the most points will be awarded with grants between $1,000 and $2,000 to use at their schools.
