Temporary lockdown at Highland Elementary after reports of naked man with knife

Wednesday morning Highland Elementary School temporarily locked down while police searched for a naked man who allegedly  had a knife in the area.

At 9:32 deputies were called out to the 2200 block of Barnett St. for a report of a person with mental issues in possession of a knife.

When deputies arrived the man refused to come outside. He eventually ran out of the house and fled the area.He was running the neighborhood naked according to KCSO.

As a precautionary the school locked down because officials weren’t sure if the naked man was in possession of a knife.

The man was apprehended and arrested just after 11 a.m. on E. Highland, between Harrison and Naylor.
