Third Annual Tejon Indian Tribe "Honoring our Ancestors" Pow Wow at CSUB Saturday

The 3rd annual Tejon Indian Tribe's "Honoring our Ancestors" Pow Wow will take place Saturday and Sunday at California State University, Bakersfield.

It is an all day event that will feature singing, dancing, arts and craft, food and competition.

The tribe was officially recognized by the government five years ago and now more than 900 members are reviving their language which has been dead for decades. 

The event officially starts at 11 a.m. Saturday and will last until 10 p.m. It will start again Sunday at 11 a.m. at end at 6 p.m. 

The public is welcome to attend. It is free and parking is free as well. 

Gourd dancing will take place at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday with the grand entry at noon. 

CSUB is located at 9001 Stockdale Highway in southwest Bakersfield.
