UPDATE: KCFD says the fire is out, but traffic is still backed up along EB Hwy. 58 near Keene at this time. 

The fire covered a total of 1/2 an acre. There were no injuries.

According to California Highway Patrol, traffic is backed up on Eastbound of Highway 58 near Hart Flat Road as fire crews work to put out a fire. 

Kern County Fire Department says the blaze started as a car fire and spread to the nearby brush. 

No word yet on how big this fire is.
