KCSO investigating fatal shooting of father and son at Mojave Fastrip, father seriously injured

UPDATE:A GoFundMe account has been set up for the victims, identifying them as Rick and Raymond Martinez. Raymond died at the scene and Rick suffered moderate major injuries, KCSO said. The Martinez family is from Lancaster.

Family friend Laura Mitobe created the GoFundMe and spoke to 23ABC over the phone. Raymond's mother, Angelina Martinez, is a popular dog groomer in the Antelope Valley, Mitobe said. The family is very involved in the community, and Raymond was a veterinarian assistant at Boulevard Animal Hospital in Lancaster.

UPDATE (5:32 a.m.): KCSO says two people have been taken into custody in connection with the deadly shooting in Mojave.

KCSO have arrested 20-year-old Dante Strong and 21-year-old Blu Tuch in connection with the shooting. 

KCSO says Strong confronted the victims in the parking lot of the Fastrip, attempting to rob them. During the robbery, the victims were shot. The victim who survived attempted to run after the suspects, but Strong and Tuch were able to get away. 

Strong and Tuch now face multiple charges including murder and attempted murder.

The Kern County Sheriff's Office is on scene of a fatal shooting at a Fastrip station in Mojave, near Highway 58.

KCSO says it happened at around 7:40 p.m. on Sunday night. Deputies found two people who had been shot, and detained two people at the scene.

Homicide detectives are on scene. One of the victims was killed, the other was left with non-life threatening injuries.
