Gwendolyn Turner's husband was shot and left to die by Erran West.

West also shot and killed a young woman. He was sentenced to death in 2014 for the execution-style killings, kidnapping, possession of marijuana and possession of a gun by a felon. Turner now wants California's death penalty to be changed.

Turner wants voters to repeal the death penalty and vote to designate superior court for initial petitions and successive appeals.

She joined Kern County District Attorney Lisa Green and Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood as she petitioned the public to vote no on Prop 62 and yes on Prop 66.

There are currently over 700 inmates on California's death row.
