A Bakersfield woman is in the hospital after being hit by a taxicab in east Bakersfield on Sunday.
The California Highway Patrol says the 60-year-old woman was crossing Flower St. near Haley St. just before 8 p.m. Sunday when she was struck by a person driving a taxi westbound on Flower St.
CHP also said the woman was crossing the street outside of the marked crosswalk. She sustained major injuries and was transported to Kern Medical.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
