Woman who was ejected from car in crash on Hwy. 58, Weedpatch Highway has died

UPDATE:

 

A crash on Highway 58 at Weedpatch Highway killed one person and sent two others to the hospital, including a 6-month-old infant.

 

All three were from Las Vegas.

 

California Highway Patrol says the driver, who has not yet been identified, died at the hospital.

 

The passenger in the right front seat was identified as Leilani Taylor. She was taken to Kern Medical for treatment of minor injuries.

 

Alcohol and drugs were not contributing factors with the collision.

 

The collision remains under investigation.

ORIGINAL STORY:

 

The woman who was ejected from a car on Highway 58 at Weedpatch Highway has died. 

 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman died while being treated at a hospital. 

 

The CHP says the car driven by the woman hit a guardrail Wednesday morning, went airborne, ejecting her. 

 

A 6-month-old child, who was also in the car, suffered no injuries. 

 

The CHP says the woman was the child's mother.
