UPDATE: After an hourslong standoff in Southwest Bakersfield, the Bakersfield Police Department arrested Dennis Daniel Rhynes, 61, for multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon.

Officers later identified the man as Rhynes who was near the doorway of the apartment. He then retreated back and refused officers orders to exit.

Rhynes later exited the apartment without incident around 3 a.m. Sunday.
The firearm believed to have been used in the incident has been seized, police said. Rhynes has been booked for charges of brandishing a firearm, criminal threats, assault with a deadly weapon and resisting or delaying of a police officer.
