The start of the new school year is inching closer and closer and one assemblyman is looking to help families in need with a few events.

Assemblymember Rudy Salas is hosting three Stuff the Bus events in Kern and Kings counties. He is teaming up with local community members and businesses to supply hundreds of backpacks loaded with supplies for local students.

The first event will be in Wasco Friday from 9 a.m. until noon at the Walmart on North Central Avenue. The second will be on Saturday in Hanford from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Walmart Super Center and the third one will be back in Delano from 7:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Walmart on Woollomes Avenue.
