BAKERSFIELD, CA. — A Bakersfield man has been arrested in connection to the murder of two women from three decades ago, according to the Burbank Police Department.

Officials said Horace Vaultz Jr, 64, was taken into custody for the 1986 murder of Mary Susan Duggan and 1981 murder of Selena Keough.

According to investigators, Duggan's murder remained unsolved for 33 years. Officials said she was brutally attacked and found dead in a trunk of a car in Burbank on June 9, 1986. She was 22 years old at the time.

Investigators identified Vaultz through forensic evidence that was examined and analyzed. Officials believe Vaultz is also responsible for the murder of Keough in the City of Montclair, California.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office filed two counts of murder with special circumstance allegations against Vaultz.

He is being held without bail and is due in court on Monday, November 18, 2019.
