BPD: 16-year-old girl was not kidnapped, found unharmed

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — (UPDATE March 4, 2019 at 12:55 p.m.): BPD says that Prendez was allegedly with 18-year-old Abel Camarena. He was cited for contributing to a delinquency of a minor.

(UPDATE: March 2, 2019 at 4:31 a.m.) BPD says further investigation revealed that a kidnapping did not occur.

(UPDATE: March 2, 2019 at 2:43 a.m.) BPD says Prendez has been located and was unharmed.

CHP has deactivated the Amber Alert.

The Bakersfield Police Department and California Highway Patrol are looking for 16-year-old Santana Prendez.

Prendez is described as a Hispanic female, around 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing around 120 pounds with black hair with blond highlights. She was last seen wearing a pink sweatshirt and black leggings.

According to police, Prendez was abducted by two white males near the 3900 block of Columbus Street in Northeast Bakersfield around 10:20 p.m. Friday night. Prendez was seen being forced into a grey, four-door vehicle with tinted windows.
