BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning Bakersfield Police responded to multiple reports of a shooting near Planz Road and South Chester Avenue.

Upon arrival BPD officers learned that Kern County Sheriff's Office deputies were also flagged down for a gun shot victim in a separate area near South Chester and Richland St. According to police an adult female was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. However, police say the shooting is believed to be connected to a large house party in the area of Parkland Ct near Planz Road.

At this time there is no suspect information and the investigation is ongoing according to police.
