BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — District officials have confirmed that lockdowns have been lifted from Standard Middle and Elementary schools, located on North Chester Avenue, after an armed suspect was reported to be in the area.
The superintendent told 23ABC the lock-downs were initially put in place after The Kern County Sheriff's Office deputies said they were answering to reports of an armed suspect in the area. KCSO told 23ABC that the reports were unfounded.
According to officials, the lock-down went into effect around 10 a.m. on Thursday morning and was lifted about 15 minutes later.
