PORTERVILLE, Calif. — Tulare County sheriff's deputies are investigating a dead body found in a burning car in an orchard near Porterville.
The Tule River Fire Department got a report about a grass fire at Chimney and Reservation at about 1 a.m. and when they got there, they found a car on fire with a body inside.
Witnesses told CHP officers they saw blood in the car and it looked like it got dragged into the orchard.
Sheriff's detectives took over the investigation and they told us they'll have an update on the situation later this morning.
