BAKERSFIELD, Ca. — The Cal State Bakersfield men's basketball team opened up Western Athletic Conference play with a bang on Thursday night, beating a red-hot Seattle U team 83 -71. The Roadrunners got off to a hot start returning home for the first time since December 18 and led by ten points heading into the second half.

Their momentum carried into the second half behind efficient play from redshirt Freshman Darrin Person Jr. and a career-high 10 points leading the surge for the 'Runners to finish off the game.

CSUB carries a perfect 5-0 record at home into the weekend as they take on another tough WAC opponent in Utah Valley for their second conference game of the season. The game tips off at 7 p.m. at the Icardo Center on Saturday.
