Assistance League to help students shop for new clothes as part of Operation School Bell

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On Saturday, the Assistance League will help students and parents shop for new school clothing as part of Operation School Bell. The event will take place at two locations: the East Hills Target store on Mall View Rd and the Burlington store on California Ave.

According to a press release, the Assistance League has been "providing appropriate school clothing for children in Kern County" since 1956. This year marks over 150,000 students being provided with new clothing, benefitting over 100 schools in 27 different districts.

The event will benefit children from the Fairfax School District and the Bakersfield City School District.

The Assistance League is expecting over 250 students to participate in the event.

The times for each event are as follows:

  • East Hills Target Store (3401 Mall View Rd.) 8:00 – 10:00 am
  • Burlington (4400 California Avenue) 7:00 – 9:00 am
