BPD, Bakersfield Police Activities League to host Junior Police Academy

The Bakersfield Police Department, partnered with the Bakersfield Police Activities League will host several Junior Police Academy sessions for kids aged 11-17 years. The program runs for four weeks, with two sessions per week. A graduation ceremony will take place at the end of each session. The Junior Police Academy is free for participants.

For ages 11-13 sessions will run from June 8 - July 3, 7:45 a.m. to noon at the following locations:

Bakersfield Police Activities League, 301 East 4th St.
The Bridge Bible Church, 12225 Stockdale Highway
Friendship House, 2424 Cottonwood Road
Valley Oaks Charter School, 3401-D Chester Ave.

For ages 14-17, sessions will run from July 13 – Aug. 7, 7:45 a.m. to noon at the following locations:

Bakersfield Police Activities League, 301 East 4th St.
The Bridge Bible Church, 12225 Stockdale Highway

Enrollment is restricted to 50 recruits per session. Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Applications can be picked up at the BPAL facility, located at 301 E. 4th St., or downloaded at www.bakersfieldpal.org.
