BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — If you want something for the whole family to be apart of you can get on your bike and go for a ride under the full moon.

The Full Moon Bike Ride starts at 7 p.m. Monday evening at Beach Park. The ride will follow the Kern River Parkway Trail west from Beach Park and turn south at CSUB and continue on the bike path through the campus and end at The Marketplace.

The sponsor, Bike Bakersfield, is strongly recommending riders wear a helmet and a front-facing headlamp.

"All ages and skill levels are encouraged to come. The ride is a comfortable, 10-12 mph pace and welcomes riders of all kinds," according to the Bike Bakersfield Facebook page.

Bike Bakersfield also recommends that riders have a way to get back to where they started.

"Some like to park at the Marketplace and ride to Beach Park prior to the start of the ride so they may enjoy the rest of the evening without having to ride back."
