BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — You have a chance to help send our local heroes to the nation's capital to visit monuments built in their honor.

Honor Flight of Kern County officials will be at multiple locations this Wednesday collecting money to help send veterans to DC. This is the only fundraising activity the organization does all year.

They will be at Salty's on White Lane, PF Changs off Stockdale Highway and Chuy's off Rosedale Highway. Organizers will come to your car window and collect any donation you are willing to give. In addition, the 23ABC team will be at the PF Chang's location.

Honor Flight's Executive Director Lili Marsh explained the importance of the upcoming fundraiser.

"We just had an Honor Flight come back just a couple weeks ago with 100 veterans that had gone to Washington, DC to see their memorial and 100 lives were changed."

The fundraiser is set to run from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
