BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Friday night, Spectrum will be continuing its weekly Movies in the Park event with a screening of "Sherlock Gnomes" at Wilson Park on 2400 Wilson Road.

The 2018 film follows Sherlock Gnomes and his assistant, Gnome Watson, as they storm into London's Natural History Museum where their nemesis is holding gnomes hostage, planning to smash them.

The free movie begins at dusk. Bring your picnic gear, lawn chairs, and blankets. Snacks will be available for purchase.

All movies shown are rated either G or PG.

The Movies in the Park event will continue until the last Friday of July. The event moves to a different park each week and showcases a different movie.

There are only three weeks and movies left after Sherlock Gnomes.

On July 12, head to Silver Creek Park to see "How to Train Your Dragon 3."

On July 19, "The Incredibles 2" will be shown at THSC Mesa Marin Park.

And on the last showing of the summer, catch "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms" at the Spectrum Amphitheater on July 26.
