We're a little more than a week away from Thanksgiving and it's the time where you can come out and help the community. Well, how's about working on your cardio while helping a good cause? The NAACP's event coordinators Caprise Barnes and Bianca Haynes talk about the organization's 5K Turkey Run/Walk.
In order to enter you're being asked to donate a turkey.
The turkeys are due by November 20 and can be dropped off at 1010 Shalimar Dr. in Bakersfield. The run will take place on November 21 at the Park at Riverwalk. Registration begins at 8 a.m.
The organization says that they are trying to raise 50 turkeys and the first 50 people to donate will receive a medal.
