BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The founder of a new non-profit called Erase Race: The American Unity Movement made a stop in Bakersfield as part of his mission to build a bridge and end racial division.

Carlen Charleston said their mission is training and educating individuals and organizations for the purpose of unity.

"The name 'Erase Race' means we want to do away with the concept of races. But, it is really much larger than that. Racial ideology is really systematic of all the division in our country," he said.

Erase Race stopped in Bakersfield as part of their national tour that started back in June. It's expected to finish this month.

Charleston will return to Texas after the tour where he hopes to start a program featuring courses that train people to see racial divides.
