Restaurants in Kern County that will be open on Thanksgiving Day

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Thanksgiving Day is usually a day to eat good food and enjoy great company. But, if you find yourself with no plans for a feast or just not wanting to cook a big meal on Turkey Day here's a list of local restaurants that will be open on the holiday.

*We've also included a few take-out options.

The Padre: The Belvedere Room is hosting a Thanksgiving Buffet from 10 am- 4 pm. Reservations are required and some spots are still available. For more information click here.

Cheryl's Diner: This Kernville spot will be serving Thanksgiving dinner from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Ewing's on the Kern: Another Kernville spot that is open on Thanksgiving. Dinner starts at 3 p.m.

Cracked Egg Cafe: This Kernville spot will be open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Click here for more information.

Hometown Buffet:  It will be open from 11 am- 6 pm. For more information click here.

Golden Corral: The family-friendly buffet chain on Ming Avenue will be open on Thanksgiving from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. serving up a hot meal!

K C Steak House: This steak house near F and 26th streets will be open on Thanksgiving Day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Ming's Cafe: The cafe announced it will be available for catering dine-in and takeout. See the menu here.

Hungry Hunter's Steakhouse: The restaurant confirmed it will be open from 11 a.m. to 9p.m., click here for the menu.

Kentucky Fried Chicken: We confirmed that the KFC on White Lane in Bakersfield will be open for Thanksgiving from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Crest Bar and Grill: The decade-old Crest Bar and Grill, nestled inside the beautiful Bakersfield RV Resort, will be open for Thanksgiving Day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. serving up a special Thanksgiving meals. Click herefor the menu.

Blue Elephant Thai Cuisine: Why not reward yourself with Thai food! The business will be open regular business hours.

Panda Express: We confirmed that the location at 9200 Rosedale Highway will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Please call ahead of time for other select locations open on Thanksgiving.

John's Incredible Pizza: It is open Thanksgiving Day from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. These are special Thanksgiving hours.  

Sizzler: Join them for a Thanksgiving dinner at both locations on are open from 10:30 a.m. - 8:30 pm. Click herefor menu descriptions. 

Denny's: Is always open 24/7 and 365 days a week so you will have no problem ordering a Grand Slam on Turkey Day.

IHOP: We confirmed with all of the Bakersfield locations and they will be open on Thanksgiving Day. Please call ahead of time for specific hours.

Romano's Macaroni Grill: We confirmed the restaurant on Rosedale Highway will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Lucille's Smokehouse BBQ: Lucille's is accepting reservations for Thanksgiving at their Valley Plaza location. The restaurant will be offering a special holiday menu from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. You can make a reservation here.

Hodel's Country Dining: We confirmed the restaurant on 5917 Knudsen Drive will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The will be offering all the classic Thanksgiving offerings. Adults eat for $15.85, children ages 7 to 10 eat for $6,95 and children ages 3 to 6 eat for $4.95.

*Marie Calendars has five Thanksgiving feasts to choose from, all of which require about three hours of reheating time. The turkey option is the least expensive at $99 and it includes all the trimmings and their famous pies.

*Costco: With your membership, the big box store is making your life easier. For $90, the meal serves eight people. That means you will have a lot of leftovers. You have to order soon, because it ships to your house frozen. *Make sure you pick up before Thanksgiving day.
