BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Today, the community is gathering to celebrate the life of David Marcus. He passed away last month after a seven-year-long battle with cancer.

He was known throughout the community for his love of sports, and his work with thumbs up cancer down. Funeral services for Marcus are set for today at 10 a.m. at Valley Bible Fellowship on East Brundage Lane. It was originally going to be held at Centennial High School but was recently changed.

The services are open to the public.
