BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The new year is almost among us and for many around town, it's a time to celebrate a long-standing tradition.

McMurtrey Aquatic Center will again host their annual Polar Bear Plunge next week.

It's happening at 11 a.m. and cost $5 to take the plunge.

Anyone seven and older is allowed to take part in the plunge, as long as they meet the four foot requirement.

The aquatic center is located at 1325 Q Street.
