UPDATE: The driver killed in the crash has been identified as 64-year-old Ben Binh Le from Lake Forest.

At least one person is dead following a deadly crash between a tanker truck and a U-Haul truck on the I-5 near Fort Tejon Saturday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) website, the crash happened around 4:50 a.m. CHP reported that one person was pinned inside the U-Haul truck, but was initially responsive.

When CHP arrived on scene the they found at least one person with major injuries who later died at the scene.

According to CHP, officers began shutting down multiple lanes on the I-5 SB heading towards Lebec, however as of 8 a.m. all lanes have been reopened.
