BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Easter Sunday is one of the most important days in the Christian calendar. It's the season Christians believe in rebirth because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Because Easter has such a powerful message and is so popular RiverLakes Community Church celebrates their Easter Sunday service at the Spectrum Amphitheatre at the Park at River Walk.
Senior pastor, Matt Vorhees, said this year was the 12th year his congregation celebrated Easter Sunday service at the outdoor venue. He added the amphitheatre adds extra space and adds a special outdoor element that connects to the holiday.
The service was held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Sunday morning.
