A charity says it has rejected a $200,000 donation from rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, saying that the musician "didn't align" with the charity's "mission and values."

According to USA Today, in a since-deleted Instagram post, 6ix9ine (real name Daniel Hernandez), confirmed that his donation to No Kid Hungry had been rejected, saying "@nokidhungry rather take food out the mouth of these children I never seen something so cruel."

In a statement to both USA Today and Complex, No Kid Hungry said it is the charity's policy not to accept donations whose activities don't align with its values.

"We are grateful for Mr. Hernandez’s generous offer to donate to No Kid Hungry but we have informed his representatives that we have declined this donation. As a child-focused campaign, it is our policy to decline funding from donors whose activities do not align with our mission and values," the charity said in its statement.

6ix9ine was recently released from prison amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In December, he pleaded guilty to nine charges, including racketeering, carrying a firearm, assault with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy murder charges. Though he was facing a maximum of 47 years in prison, he cooperated with authorities in testifying against former members of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods gang and was sentenced to two years in prison.
