BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Cirque du Soleil recently reported it will be canceling its March 14-15 shows this weekend.

Cirque du Soleil was set to appear at Mechanics Bank Arena this weekend, unfortunalty, due to rising concerns of the coronavirus, all shows this weekend have been canceled.

"For the safety of our audience members and employees, Cirque du Soleil will not be performing AXEL as scheduled at the Mechanics Bank Arena (1001, Truxton Ave) from March 14-15," reported Cirque du Soleil.

All ticket holders for "Axel" will receive official notice on how to proceed with the change of date by their original point of purchase.

Cirque du Soleil will continue to monitor the situation and will share additional information as needed.
