BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Acrobats, fire, and ice, oh my! Audiences can anticipate all this and much more from Cirque du Soleil's newest ice show, "Axel," coming soon to Bakersfield.

Cirque du Soleil's first frozen endeavor, "Crystal," wowed Bakersfield audiences back in March of last year, and now they're back for more. This new show, "Axel," merges the wonder and spectacle of circus and acrobatics audiences have come to expect from Cirque du Soleil with an extra element of difficulty.

A spokesperson for the event explaining the show was inspired by the energy of music, art, and love.

"'Axel' was inspired by the energy of big gatherings or concerts or sports events, so we reconfigured the arena space to give it a concert feel," Julie Desmarais, Touring Publicist for "Axel."

"Axel" will be skating into the Mechanics Bank Arena on March 14 and 15 for five performances. Tickets start at $35 and are available now.
