BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The rock band Godsmack is coming to Bakersfield and the Rabobank Arena in October.

Godsmack, which just finished their European and U.K. tour, will make a stop in Bakersfield on October 12, along with opening act Halestorm.

The band, which consists of lead singer Sully Erna, guitarist Tony Rombola, bass player Robbie Merrill and drummer Shannon Larkin, was formed in Massachusetts in 1995. They have release seven studio albums and has had 25 top ten rock radio hits. The current tour is in support of their album When Legends Rise.

According to their website, "Following a marathon two-year tour cycle reunderlining their position as one of rock’s most explosive acts, Sully made a conscious decision to approach the writing similar to how he spent his time creating for his solo work by bringing in some outside writers and exploring some newer modern sounds. As a result, the sonic palette expanded dramatically, while preserving the edge and integrity that GODSMACK has historically built their career on."

"Under Your Scars," the latest single from the album, is currently #5 on the Active Rock Chart.

Tickets for the show go on sale Friday, June 28 at 10:00 a.m.
