BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Over 30 years in the industry and around 250 shows every 365 days, rapper Tech N9NE isn't slowing down any time soon. Tech spoke to 23ABC before his show at the Fox Theater and shared what inspires him to keep going.
"It's just ... my fans keep me going," Tech explained. "It's a family thing and once you feel that family-oriented feeling in my show, you would want to bring other people back."
Some of those fans showed up for a meet and greet to tell Tech N9NE just how much they appreciate his work.
Anne Davis told 23ABC that she's been following TECH N9NE since high school.
"You just never heard anything like him, even metal heads, punk rock, they all like his music," Davis explained.
Tech has been able to stand out as an underground and independent artist throughout the years, releasing 13 studio albums and headlining hundreds of shows. This time around, he says the name of his tour "It Goes Up" reflects his inclining success in the industry,
"On our 20th anniversary we're still going up which means more fans are still coming people are not tired of Tech N9NE," he added.
Back in 2012, Tech N9NE and rapper Machine Gun Kelly broke a record when they completed 99 shows in 90 days, making it the longest consecutive rap tour in history. Today, Tech N9NE averages 250 shows a year ... by himself.
"By the 100 and something day your start getting delirious and you can't remember the words," Tech said.
But the rapper says after all these years and shows he owes his growing success to his fans -- whom he considers "family".
