The man who has played Neil Winters on "The Young and The Restless" since 1991 was found dead on Sunday, TMZ reports .

Kristoff St. John, 52, was found in his California home after friends went to check on him, the entertainment news website reports . It is citing sources that say there is no sign of foul play, and alcohol may have played a factor in St. John's death.

The Y&R actor was nominated for Daytime Emmy Awards nine times, and he won 10 NAACP Image Awards.

In 2014, St. John's son took his own life while in a mental health facility.

St. John has also threatened suicide in the past, according to police reports.
