A Bakersfield City firefighter was injured while battling a structure fire in a mobile park Sunday morning according to officials.
Kern County Fire official told 23ABC News that the firefighter was taken to Kern Medical and is expected to make a full recovery.
Officials said just before 4 a.m. the fire initially broke out in the backyard of a home and that the flames eventually spread to a separate neighboring mobile home. Both homes are located on Virginia Avenue in East Bakersfield.
Both Bakersfield Fire and Kern County Fire crews worked together to knock down the flames by 5 a.m.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time but fire officials said this is a good reminder to keep lawn brush off your property to prevent fire from spreading.
