BAKERSFIELD, CA. — It has been nearly a year since former Bakersfield Mayor Harvey Hall passed away. Lavonne Hall, who was married to Harvey for 28 years, reflected on her late husband.

"There's always that memory of missing him again, but there's happiness for good memories," said Lavonne.

The reputed mayor and founder of Hall Ambulance has had a lasting impression on the community.

But Hall was also known for his flamboyant and bold fashion statements. His style was synonymous with his love for the community.

"For him, it was a way for him portray the importance of the event," said Lavonne.

Now, Hall's most iconic outfits are on display at Hall Ambulance, as a way to keep his memory alive.

Each month, the museum quality display showcases one of Hall's outfits.

It started in December with Hall's infamous santa jacket that he had custom made for the Bakersfield Christmas Parade.

With this month displaying Hall's Cat in the Hat suit, also a symbol of his work in the community.

"During the time he was Bakersfield's 25th mayor, he did 166 celebrity readings," said Mark Corum, Director of Media Services at Hall Ambulance.

On Thursday, in honor of baseball's opening day, the display changed to reflect his love of sports.

The newest ensemble added was Hall's Atlanta Brave's uniform, from when he took part in spring training's Fantasy Camp in 2011.

With the displays representing more than just fashion, but providing people with insight into Hall's passions and experiences.
