BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Here in Kern County 64,000 people don’t have health insurance, according to the California Healthcare Foundation. Without health insurance, it can be almost impossible to get quality health care.

Cirugia Sin Fronteras, which means surgery without borders, is an award winning nonprofit that aims bringing health care to those who need it most.

Individuals who meet specific income levels can apply to the Foundation, who then will sponsor the patient's surgery or procedure by cutting down the cost of medical procedures through donations and community partners.
